Mark is my cousin, so when he asked if he could fly my husband and me out to Washington, DC to shoot some engagement pictures, I got super excited! We had so much fun shooting these pictures. I honestly wish I could have a whole weekend to shoot every couples engagement session! Here are some of my favorites from the weekend.

I decided that I wanted to turn this photo shoot into one big collaboration. My friend Lori at Shabulous Creations let me borrow one of her amazing chandeliers.My friend Sarah Kitt did my model’s hair and makeup. My model was my dear friend, Lindsey, that I’ve known forever. I’ve been a big fan of her artwork for quite some time and she let me borrow some of her paintings.

I mixed it all together and I’m so happy with the shots. I’m so thankful for everyone who let me borrow their products. Without further ado here is the finished product.

If you had told me when I was 7 that I would be photographing one of my fellow soccer team mate’s little brother’s senior pictures, I probably would have run and hid behind my mom. (I used to be a shy kid) My point is that I think it’s awesome that I’ve been able to keep in contact with the Barnes family through the years. The best part is that I’ve been able to capture some major milestones in their lives. I’ve shot some of their head shots, wedding and engagement pictures and now senior pictures. I was so excited to shoot Hunter’s senior pictures, because he had tons of ideas of what he wanted. He was willing to jump fences and climb cement blocks just to get the shot.

We started out taking advantage of the last of the fall colors outdoors and then we headed to The Seasons Bistro (where Hunter works) to get a more classic look. Here are some of my favorite shots.

I was so honored that I was able to be a bridesmaid and photographer for this wedding. Wearing both hats was a little harder than I thought it would be. I was running back and forth from taking pictures of the groom to making sure that the bride got in her dress. Thankfully, I had two wonderful assistants with me. Rachel Chandler was so wonderful and did all the shooting that I couldn’t do. (cause I was too busy walking down the isle, holding flowers and looking pretty) My husband was another amazing asset. He carried my cameras, toted a ladder and was my personal coat holder. I am very thankful for them, and I was so honored that Ashley trusted us to capture her beautiful wedding.

Ashley and Justin got married at Water’s Mill in Dahlonega, GA. It was a perfect fall day with beautiful colors, and sparkling lanterns hanging from trees.  I hope you enjoy some of my favorites from the day. To see all the photos click here.

I loved shooting this wedding because I felt like a secret agent on a mission. Hannah wanted to have a first look, but she didn’t want to tell anyone about it, not even her groom. She didn’t want anyone to try and talk her out of it.  We planned it so that  my second shooter started taking pictures of Sage with his back to the road where Hannah would be walking quietly to sneak up on him. It worked out perfectly. I love having adventurous clients who are ready to try anything! Here are some of my favorite shots from their beautiful wedding.

We hosted the reception at our home, which made everything more personal. We used a lot of old antique props that my dad has had for years. I loved the way everything turned out. It was everything I had imagined it would be. I would love to share some photos from the reception.

Being a wedding photographer for the past 5 years, I’ve seen a lot of weddings. I love weddings, but the best part to me isn’t venue, or the reception, or the food (although some times the food is fantastic) It’s the moments  that I get a glimpse of the love between the groom and bride. I love to see the couple completely relaxed and being able to enjoy the day. So when it came to planning out our special day, my fiancé, Joey, and I decided that we wanted to do something different and fun.

We tossed a ton of ideas around before we finally came up with an plan that we both loved — A hot air balloon wedding. I’ve always wanted to ride in a hot air balloon and Joey was actually planning on eventually taking me, so it just seemed like the perfect timing. We knew everything would be up in the air (literally) as far as planning went because of the weather, but we didn’t care! We did decide to keep it a secret just in case it couldn’t happen, and I’m glad we did because our friends and family loved the surprise. Here are some of my favorite pictures of the best day of my life. The photographers were Gary S Chapman(my daddy) and my dear friend Josie Kay. We used Balloons over GA for our flight.
