Healing

Healing.... It's been apart of my life since.. well since I was born. Without Jesus's sacrifice on the cross for my healing. My life would be radically different. For one, I wouldn't be able to write this or even understand this concept. Those of you who know me and know my story will understand why this subject means so much to me.

While I was sick the other day, my mom suggested that I listen to a healing teaching tape. It was by a lady who knew mom when we lived in KY. Mom said without those teachings, mom and dad would not have had the strength or courage they did to pray and believe for me when I was born.

Now,I said all that to say that I would like to post some of the points this lady made that are really encouraging and helpful. They will serve as a reminder to me when the devil tries to steal my healing.

Here are the notes from the teaching...

We have an enemy and it’s not God. John 10:10

Is Healing God’s will? Yes! Healing was provided when Jesus died. Isaiah 53:4-5 Matt 8:16-17

Is God putting this sickness on me for a purpose? No! In the Bible do you ever see Jesus putting sickness on someone? No, it’s the opposite we see him taking away the sickness. Acts 10:38 For God to put sickness on you it would have to be his will…. We know that it is not God’s will or else He would have put sickness in the Garden of Eden. If sickness was God’s will and it brought glory to God it would be wrong to go to the doctor or to take medicine. Matt 15: 29-31 God gets the glory when people are healed!

What about when the Bible says we must suffer for Jesus. Well it’s true you will suffer for Jesus… But you will suffer persecution not sickness. 2 Tim 3:12

Some people will argue, “The Bible says whom the Lord loves He chastens. I’m being chastened with this sickness.” Well it is true that God chastens but never with sickness. The word chastens means to teach or educate. If a kid is doing great in school and passing all the tests, the teacher is not going to go out and break his leg. The teacher will simple give him a harder test so that he can continue to learn.

Some people will say, “I’m just like Job in the Bible.” Job 2:7 the devil smote Job. God didn’t do it. Then they will say, “Yes, but God gave the devil permission.” This is true, but God didn’t commission the devil to do it. God permitted it. In the same way, God will permit you to rob a bank. That doesn’t mean he wants you to. Job’s problem was that he became fearful, he opened the door for the devil Job 3:25. Also, there is a happy ending to the story of Job. Job 42: 10 The Lord restored.

Another argument that people will bring up is this, “God has given me a thorn in the flesh just like Paul.” First of all it was sent by the devil. 2 Cor 12:8. Also, it does not say sickness was brought to him (2 Cor 11:23).

Does God heal instantly? The Bible does not say they will lay hands on the sick and they will instantly recover. It’s a process. Keep confessing that God is healing and working in your body.

If God heals you does that mean that you are permanently healed? No. The devil will try to bring the very same thing against you. You must resist it all over again. P C Nelson said this, “More people loose their healing over a counter attack than anything else.” It’s a test and you have to run the devil off! He is coming to see if you still believe by the power of Jesus’ stripes you are still healed. As soon as the symptom comes, know it’s from the devil and tell him you have already received your healing. Rev 3:11

Lastly, why are some people not healed? They don’t confess Jesus to be their healer. Jesus never becomes anything to you that you don’t confess Him to be.

That’s all. I hope you got as much out of it as I did.

Excellent post Sara!

There are a lot of people who need to hear your message because a lot of Christians still struggle with this issue.

People just assume that God is to blame for everything and you have discussed how this is the wrong way to think in your post.

Impressive photography also!!

Wow. I especially liked the part about that just because God permits something, doesn't mean that He wants it to happen. I've never thought about it like that. Thank you for sharing!!
