Today's Assignment

Today I walked into class and in the front of the room there is a table with the oddest arangment of objects all over it. There was an egg, a ruler,a plastic cup,some knifs,some childrens toys, and a ton of other things! This was our assignment ...
Take an object from the table and sue ther techniques discussed in class to explore creative ways to represent your object. You are required to shoot the following...

Surreal, dreamlike image- somewhat out of place.

Real world image.

From what the object expresses itself. (still not sure what that means)
Anyway we were supposed to turn in 4 images.

So one by one we went up a got our objects. I got a choo choo train! It was great. Oh and we only had about 2 hours to shoot this... it was crazy. I drove 30 min to find a kid and train tracks.(Thanks Ashleigh you are the best!) But it was awesome. So here is what I got. I like them.



And the rest of my day was spent trying to get little kids to smile at the camera while sitting on "Santa's" lap.... yes it's something we are doing at the school. It was pretty fun actually. From 5:30 to 9. Yup pretty hardcore... some kids just don't know how to smile... poor things.
Ok I'm out I need sleep. It's been a long day.

Hey, It's been a while... I promise I will start updating more. I will. I will I will. Well, I'll try very hard. So I just had midterms and despite my shaking hands and all the brain farts I had, I actually did really well. When I got my technical test back I was completely embarrassed by the questions I got wrong because I know the right answer. So, Jeff is offering for those who got less then an 80 to retake the test. He talked to me and told me that I could also retake the test. He knows I know the stuff. I'm so glad he is going to let me take it again. I know I got a passing grade but I know I can ace that test. I just have to get over the fear of test taking. Also, I did better in Jims test on composition. I just memorized the review sheet. I'm hoping that by the time I graduate I will be a professional test taker! That would be wonderful!


As far as life goes things are going well. My soccer season is over. We lost all but 2 games and I wasn't there for those so I never got to taste sweet victory. I did get to score one goal. It was a sweet left footer! I was a very happy girl. I do think I'm going to play next season though. I really do love playing that sport. My friend Ashley and I are trying to get a bunch of us at school to play soccer. It will be great fun.

Speaking of fun, I have to say that I am very proud of myself. I have created little monsters. Yes, I know, little office monsters. It all started when I got The Office season 1. Then when my friends came over I would put it on. And now they line up all the way down the hall to come to my room and watch. Ok, so maybe I’m going a little overboard, but my friends are now all hooked on the show. Yesterday or maybe it was the day before... I can’t remember. The point is… we got the office season 3! It’s very exciting!

Yes, we are all very happy.

This is an assignment I did to demonstrate the rule of 3rds. I shot 3 of them when the cell group went camping. And the other one I shot of my friend Mark up at school.



And these are 2 images I shot on Halloween. We got partnered up with upper class people and we had to take 2 types of portraits of them. One was supposed to be a character portrait and the other a serious portrait. I liked both of them.


Well, that is all I have time for today. Eventually I will get so good at this bogging you will get to see new photos every day! So that is something to look forward to. I'm sure you are very excited!
