Self portrait

I went to a photographers meet and greet the other day at Zack Arias's studio. http://www.zarias.com/

He talked a little about personal projects. He spoke of their importance in a photographers life. It keeps us focused and passionate about what we do. Some of you know my father THE gary Chapman. Well he is working on a personal project that I think is just awesome. It's called Visitors. Check it out. http://garyschapman.com/blog/?p=715

I've been trying to think of a personal project for myself and I haven't quite come up with something yet. I have a few ideas but nothing in concrete. But I wanted to shoot today and because I have no friends, I shot myself. Haha actually I just wanted to try something out. I saw a photographer ( Jaco Fourie to be exact) who had a really cool image lit with Christmas lights and I wanted to try it out myself. It was pretty sweet. I used my Canon 580 ex II and christmas lights and that's it.

This one is my favorite shot, but I thought I'd post a few other cool ones too.

This was the first shot of the day... it was a total accident, but I really liked the way it turned out.

I shot forever!

I just liked the shadows on this one

So I'll keep you updated on the personal project. = )

OK Megin, thanks for thinking I'm pretty! Yay, I'm all for that! But whatever you hate your picture being made! BUT since you are free I would love to hang out with you and catch up sometime! I think it would be wonderful.
