Self portrait

I went to a photographers meet and greet the other day at Zack Arias's studio. http://www.zarias.com/

He talked a little about personal projects. He spoke of their importance in a photographers life. It keeps us focused and passionate about what we do. Some of you know my father THE gary Chapman. Well he is working on a personal project that I think is just awesome. It's called Visitors. Check it out. http://garyschapman.com/blog/?p=715

I've been trying to think of a personal project for myself and I haven't quite come up with something yet. I have a few ideas but nothing in concrete. But I wanted to shoot today and because I have no friends, I shot myself. Haha actually I just wanted to try something out. I saw a photographer ( Jaco Fourie to be exact) who had a really cool image lit with Christmas lights and I wanted to try it out myself. It was pretty sweet. I used my Canon 580 ex II and christmas lights and that's it.

This one is my favorite shot, but I thought I'd post a few other cool ones too.

This was the first shot of the day... it was a total accident, but I really liked the way it turned out.

I shot forever!

I just liked the shadows on this one

So I'll keep you updated on the personal project. = )

Finally!

Woo Hoo I made time to post these photos. But my computer is running incredible slowly!

Fun Sara fact for the day. I am horrible at recording an answering machine. I used to be really good. But today I tried to record a new one today and took me like 5 tries. I finally just gave up and left a very honest answering machine. = )

Enjoy the photos!

These were pictures that I took as a second shoot for Kelly is Nice Photography, I can't remember if I had said that already or not. = )

Happy endinggggggggg

I know it's monday and I'm supposed to have an interesting post for you to read. But I really can't think straight right now. I wish I had some pictures to share from the wedding I second shot for on Sat. But, I have been so busy today I just got them on the computer a few moments ago. I hope to have them ready for a post tomorrow. It was a good wedding. Everyone was so nice. I love weddings like that. = )

I played soccer on sunday and guess what!? I hurt my ankle again. So I'm out for the season. (We only have like 2 games left but I think it's more dramatic to say I'm out for the season.) I'm just so tired of it being such a pain. They say it needs to rest but I love soccer so much it's hard for me to rest it. But it's HORRIBLE when I can't play at 100%. I haven't been able to play my best at all this season and that really stinks.

Gosh, I'm being such a downer in this post. Oops. On a happier note..... I'm kicked back, listening to good old country music. I'm warm. And I'm thinking about a trip I mighttttttt be taking to Disney World. I have never ever been to Disney World. I've been to 20 different countries but I have never been to DISNEY WORLD!!!!! So I'm hoping and wishing .... (wishing upon a STAR!) that I'll be able to go this year.

So this is where I want to be...

Look at all those happy people!

Because it's monday.... and I didn't write last week

Yup it's monday and it's a cold one. I bout froze my buns off this morning but I know I wasn't as cool as the senior Jena was shooting. I assist Jena in anyway I can so that I can soak in the way that she works so that in turn we can work together and I can work my way into the associate photographer position. It's exciting! I itch for my camera during sessions but I've learned to really focus on how Jena interacts with the client and how she naturally poses her clients. She consistently come out with great work. She is great to work with and I always find myself laughing during the sessions. Whoo hoo!

Anyway, to change the subject completely today I've learned a few things...

Gloves are good.

Some times when you are trying to help people it backfires on you.

If you get angry just call your boyfriend and he will help you laugh.

If you feel like writing a nasty email.... make sure your parents check it before you send it out. = )

Don't work out 5 min after you have eaten dinner... it will make your tummy hurt.

Drink lots of water.

Curling up and reading a good book will make your day so much better.

Sometimes it's good to take showers.

Corny jokes make everything better!
